I recently shared that I have been struggling with my anxiety. It actually hit a point where I called in to work because I couldn’t push through another day.
I felt a ton of guilt and embarrassment over this, which led to me thinking that I was the only person that was unable to manage their anxiety.
As my thoughts continued to spiral, I mentioned to my husband that “everyone could handle things better than me.”
His response was incredibly powerful.
“But how do you know? When you are struggling, no one would know it. We don’t always see how other people handle things. It’s ok to take some time.”
Those words are why I’m sharing this story here today, because you don’t need to read another post about “tips to handle your stress effectively.” You need to know that you are not alone.
It’s ok that you are not perfect. No one is.
It’s ok that you need to cry. Let it out.
It’s ok to order pizza for dinner.
It’s ok if you need to take a day off.
It's ok to ask for help.
Let go of the guilt. You don’t need to feel embarrassed or unworthy.
No matter how proactive you are in dealing with your mental health and stress levels, sometimes anxiety can become unmanageable.
It happens.
But, please know this- you are never alone.
You will get through this.
Right now, I want you to let go of all the pressure and give yourself a break. A guilt free break. Read these affirmations and get some rest.
You are amazing. Never forget that.
